Lewis Leon Butts Sr., 79, was born to the late Emma Harris Butts and Sollie Butts in Harrisburg, PA. He received his formal education in the Harrisburg School District.
Lewis was married to the love of his life, Margaret Ann Summerford on August 29th, 1964. Their marriage resulted in 3 children and 59 years of matrimony and memories.
Lewis was a retiree of the United States Postal Service, a dedicated husband and father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He was a no-nonsense kind of man who valued family and found enjoyment in providing for them all of his life. In addition to working for the Postal Service, he owned a cleaning service, LB&BH Janitorial Service, for many years. He also provided contract services that beautified countless homes in the Harrisburg area. After retirement, he enjoyed delivering Showcase Now magazines to businesses throughout Central Pennsylvania, with his wife.
Lewis was often seen cutting his grass, sitting in his garage, or at the casino, on the penny machine. He enjoyed supporting his family at their events, traveling near and far for college graduations, grandparent events, cookouts, and dance competitions. He always found a casino anywhere he was.
Lewis peacefully transitioned into eternal life on Friday, June 28th, 2024 in his home surrounded by his loving family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 of his siblings, Mary Alice Butts Talley, Eugene Butts, Lucy Butts Jones, his nephews, Raymond Talley Jr., and Jonathan Butler and his brother-in-law Dr. John McKay Williams.
