Richard Lee Cornelius

Richard Lee Cornelius, 76 of Houston, Texas, went home to be with our Lord on Tuesday, July 9th, 2024. He was a beloved Husband, Father, Grand Daddy and Brother.


Funeral Services will take place on Saturday, July 20th at White Family Funeral Home in Bowie Texas, with Pastor Rex Hamilton officiating.


Visitation will begin with family and friends at 10 a.m. Followed by Funeral services at 11 a.m and burial at Elmwood Cemetery in Bowie.


Richard was born in Montague, TX on December 10th, 1947 to Dan and Virginia (Duncan) Cornelius.


Richard worked as a purchasing agent for several companies including Phillips Petroleum in Borger TX, Fluor Daniel in Pampa TX and Celanese in both Corpus Christi and Houston TX.


He will forever be remembered as a kind, thoughtful, and caring man who was dedicated to his family and friends. He loved fishing and sharing that love with his grandsons. He enjoyed his time at home with his beloved wife and rescue dog Roxy.


He is preceded in death by his parents Dan and Virginia Cornelius; his brothers Dan Cornelius Jr. and David Cornelius.


Richard is survived by his wife of 54 years, Chadette (Lindsey) Cornelius; son Brian Cornelius and his wife Amy of Corpus Christi; grandchildren Nathan Cornelius and Justin Cornelius both of Corpus Christi; sister in laws Pat (Lindsey) Tietz (Ellsworth) of Broken Arrow, OK and Ladene (Lindsey) Knight of Amarillo; along with several nieces and nephews.
