Sarah M. Brown, a beloved resident of Summerville, SC, entered into eternal rest on July 10, 2024. She was born on February 22, 1950, in Spartanburg, SC, to loving parents, the late Alonzo Warren and Mamie Harris Hamilton.

Sarah was a devoted wife to her late husband, Manning Brown, with whom she shared over 20 years of marriage. Sarah was a cherished mother to her daughter, Teresa Hinson. Her family was her pride and joy, and she often spoke of her proudest moments, including the birth of her daughter, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and earning her certification in childcare.

Sarah dedicated her life to working with children, a career that brought her immense satisfaction and joy. She was also an active member of her church and community, contributing her time and effort to voting initiatives and working at the polls in Amityville, NY. Her faith was an integral part of her life, and she served as a deaconess and a missionary, roles that she held with great honor. Additionally, Sarah served as an ambassador for Dialysis Clinic, Inc. Goose Creek and Nexton, where she mentored new patients.

Sarah’s legacy is one of love, kindness, and service. She will be remembered for her dedication to her family, her community, and her faith. Her favorite songs included "Pass Me Not" and "Let the Church Say Amen," and she had special fondness for the colors blue and black. Sarah enjoyed watching TV and movies, and treasured her trips, especially those with her sister/friend, Brenda Miller.

Sarah is survived by her daughter, Teresa Hinson (Bruce) of Summerville, SC; granddaughters, Kellima Thompson of Minneapolis, MN, Kyana T. Jackson (Garland) of Columbia, SC, and Christina Mazyck of Moncks Corner, SC; great-grandchildren, Elyse Phillips and Langston McNeil; siblings, Eugene Harris (Kay) of Greenville, SC, Larry Harris, Robert Hamilton, both from Spartanburg, SC, Jo Nelle Hamilton-Foster of Wellford, SC, Tim Hamilton (Twanda) of Wichita, KS; her former husband, James Thompson of Union, SC; her friend/sister of over fifty years, Brenda Miller; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and family. She was predeceased by her husband, Manning Brown, mother, Mamie Hamilton, father, Alonzo Warren, bonus father, Robert L. Hamilton, Sr., sisters, Bettie Hamilton, Robin Lindsey High, and bonus sister, Wilene Thompson.

Sarah will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts
of all who knew her.

In her final message, Sarah expressed her love and gratitude to her family, writing,

“I love you all. Thank you. God bless you always.”

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 1:00 pm at the Northside Fellowship Church, Spartanburg, SC.
