On Sunday, July 14, 2024, Ms. Susie Little, lovingly known as Susie Q, gently closed her eyes and peacefully departed this earthly life at her residence, surrounded by family.
Susie had a profound love for her family and a special fondness for flowers. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, tending to her garden and placing her flowers with care. Susie was given her flowers while alive, and she was a beautiful flower herself. Above all, she cherished her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Born on June 3, 1941, to the late Francis and Wade Little, Susie attended J.R. Faison School and later pursued further education at Anson Tech. In her younger days, she was a talented seamstress and hairstylist. She was preceded in death by her infant son and Shawn Little.
Susie was also preceded in death by her 13 siblings: Sarah Sturdivant, Effie Little, Viola Pratt, Karie Smith, Louise Little, Mary Bennett, Daisy-Mae Gatewood, Charlie Little, John Little, Jim Little, Lee Little, Wade Little, and Finish Little.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her four children: Mr. Gregg Little, Ms. Cynthia Little Lowery whom she referred to as (Big Cent), Ms. Cindy Little whom she referred to as (Lil Cent), and Mr. Gerry Little. She is also survived by her bonus brother, Zadek T. Woodburn (Slick).
Susie adored her 12 grandchildren: Sierra Lowery, Kamaria Lowery, Amir Lowery, Sa-Lisa Little, Tyeshia Lee, Jeremy Thompson, Gerry Little Jr., Jerrod Horne, Zachariah Little, Shun Little, Maliyaih Teal (Tootie), and Trekwon Caraway Little. Additionally, she leaves behind 9 great-grandchildren: Legend Lewis, Jayce Lowery, Jaidon Little, Anthony Brice Jr. (AJ), Layla Little, Emeralda Thompson, Elijah Thompson, Gorgeous Horne, and Jonas Horne. She is also remembered fondly by a host of beloved nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
The Homegoing Services will be on Sunday, July 21, 2024, 2:00pm, Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Interment will follow the services.
The Little Family will greet family and friends on Sunday, July 21, 2024 from 1:30-2:00pm at Smith's Memorial Chapel and at all other times at the family residence.
