James Roberson was born January 26, 1947, to the late Mr. Judson Roberson and Mrs. Lola Mae Lewis. He was nurtured by his great grandfather Mr. George Lewis.

James accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age. He was baptized at Ward Grove Baptist church. He attended Blakely Industrial High School. He left Burke County to seek a better life and resided in Brooklyn, New York for a number of years.

While living in New York, he joined Christ Fellowship Baptist Church, under the leadership of Dr. David L. Kelly III. He served on the Trustee Board for many years.

He was gainfully employed at Pfizer Pharmaceutical Company for thirty-five years. He was also drafted into the United States Army in 1969.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife of fifty-nine years, Corine Roberson; children, Lananda, Jeffery, Carlton and Cindy; five grandchildren that he raised as his own, Megan, Carlton Jr., Morgan, Chassidy and Nicholas; siblings, Charlie Mae, Charles Jr., Ada, May Williams, Mae Dorothy, Lola Dean, Anna Laura, Josie, Annie Joe and Louvon; he also leaves to cherish, Larry Gordon, Michelle, Audra, Virginia and Tommy Chance; and a host of nieces, and nephews, grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, family and friends.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Thursday, July 18, 2024, in Kinsey & Walton Chapel. Interment will follow in The Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Milledgeville, GA. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 17th, from 4 pm to 6 pm, at Kinsey & Walton Funeral Home, 3618 Peach Orchard Road. (706) 790-8858
