Elaine Posey Gray, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2024.

Elaine was born October 2, 1952 in Spartanburg, SC to the late Samuel Cousar and Dorothy Posey.

She was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church.

She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her spirit of happiness, love, and generosity will forever be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She lived a life full of laughter, adventure, and boundless energy, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Samuel Posey; Two sisters, Barbara Jean Murphy and Linda Scurry; Two grandsons, Travoiris "Tre" Gentry and Kenneth "Kenny" Mitchell.

Left to treasure her loving memories, her husband, Jimmie Gray; One son, Roddrick Gray Sr. of Spartanburg, SC; Two daughters, Katoshia (Darrius) Parks of Roebuck, SC and Tyechia Gray of Charlotte, NC; Three brothers: Stinson (Queen) Posey of Charlotte, NC, Terry Posey of Queens, NY and Steve Posey of Spartanburg, SC; Two sisters, Carolyn Rice and Joanne (L.C.) Rogers of Spartanburg, SC; 12 Grandchildren; 11 Great Grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, July 28, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, 602 Howard St., Spartanburg, SC. Burial will be in the Heritage Memorial Gardens, Roebuck, SC.
