Funeral service for Bedell Weathers, 89, of Opelika, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 26, 2024, at Greater Peace Missionary Baptist Church, 650 Jeter Avenue, Opelika, AL, 36801 with interment in Evergreen Cemetery, 1409 Monroe Avenue, Opelika, AL, 36801, Reverend Clifford E. Jones will officiate.

Mrs. Weathers, who passed away Saturday, July 20, 2024 at her home in Opelika, Alabama, was born November 5, 1934, in Lee County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Thursday, July 25, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Mrs. Weathers will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.

She leaves to cherish her memory: five children, Charlie (Loise) Weathers, Jr., of Opelika, AL, David (Linda) Weathers of Columbus, GA, Willie (Wanda) Weathers of Opelika, AL, Ruby (Mark) Echols of Loachapoka, AL and John W. Weathers of Opelika, AL; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; special cousin, Joe Stinson of Opelika, AL; three special goddaughters, Gale Poole of Opelika, AL, Sandra Oliver and Priscilla Oliver both of Atlanta, GA; special friend, Mattie Williams of Opelika, AL; a host of other relatives, church family and friends.
