Joe Nathan Hawkins, was born November 2, 1957 in Sarasota, Florida, to the late Bannie Hawkins and the late Jessie Johnson.

Joe attended Sarasota County Public Schools, where he received his diploma in 1975. He loved playing sports in school, he played football, basketball and also ran track.
Joe also played for a team called the Sarasota Sharks. He was a die hard fan, of the New England Patriots. Joe also had a passion for dogs, he trained dogs for awhile. Joe had about 8 dogs himself over a period of time. His last dog name was JoJo.

Joe accepted God as his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at an early age. He enjoy serving his Heavenly Father. He loved attending church when he was well and able.
Joe also enjoyed being with his family and friends for special gathering like cook outs, holidays events
and parties.

Joe was proceeded in death by his parents; Bannie Hawkins and Jessie Johnson. His Aunt Alna Iverson,
Niece; Andrea Holmes and His Special Partner; Queenie Santana.

He leaves to cherish his memories: Brothers: Frank Hawkins, Donald Hawkins, Edward Smith, Herbert Johnson, (all of Sarasota), Alvin Hodge of Indiana. Sisters: Alberta Hawkins, Leola Hawkins, Tanya Hawkins, Aileen Smith, Dorothy Smith, (all of Sarasota) Betty Bryant (Philadelphia) , Uncle; Foy Johnson (Lucy) ; Sister In Law; Sandra Hawkins and host of special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Fri., July 26, 2024 at Jones Funeral Home. Services will be held 1:00pm on Sat., July 27, 2024 at Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church. Funeral arrangements by Jones Funeral Home.
