A beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. Dorothy was a God-fearing woman with a heart for Christ and family. Affectionately known as “Dot” or “Momma Dot,” she was a prominent thread that kept us bound; a woman after the heart of the Lord – a woman to be praised indeed.

Mrs. Dorothy Lee Waynick – Warren was born to the late Sam Waynick, Sr. and Lula Neal Waynick on January 21, 1926. Sister Warren graduated from Laughlin High School and joined Fair Grove Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. On April 3, 1948, Dorothy was united in holy matrimony to the late Reverend Paul Yancey Warren. Born to this union were seven children. In the early hours of July 31, 2024, Dorothy went home to be with the Lord.

Dorothy was also preceded in death by her son, Percy McKinley Warren and grandson, Matthew Yancey Warren. Along with seven sisters: Gladys, Verna Mae, Myrtle, Ethel, Florence, Lois and Maxine – and three brothers; James, Sam, Jr. and Waldo.
