Theresa Inez Roberts, beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmother passed away on July 31, 2024 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. She was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Joseph DeHaven and the late Anna Bell Chambers.
Theresa attended West Philadelphia High School and graduated in 1961. Soon after, she moved to Steelton, PA, where she met and married the love of her life, Larry Roberts in 1965. They shared a beautiful life together and were blessed with two children, Darryl Roberts (Lisa Roberts) and Jason Roberts (Mandy Roberts).
Theresa was a devoted grandmother to her nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with them and cherished every moment they shared together. Aside from her family, Theresa had a passion for singing and often sang along with Patty LaBelle and the group called “The TRAMMPS,” performing under the stage name of Terry during her formative years. One year they won a talent show hosted by Solomon Burke, known as the “Godfather of Soul.” Theresa had a beautiful voice that brought joy to all who heard her.
Theresa enjoyed a long work history with Setco and then Career Link where she displayed her wonderful passion and dedication to helping others. Theresa was very outgoing and loved spending time with her family. Following retirement; Theresa spent her time volunteering at the local Food Bank.
She is preceded in death by two of her siblings, Jacqueline Ann “Aunt Michelle” Chambers and Gary Craig Chambers. In addition to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, she is survived by her younger siblings, Dwight Chambers of West Palm Beach, Florida, Josephine D. Chambers of Bali, Indonesia and Ronald D. Chambers of Harrisburg, PA, as well as a whole host of loving and supportive family members. Theresa will be dearly missed by her family, friends and all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
Theresa’s life will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 8, 2024 in the Sanctuary of Lingo Memorial Church of God in Christ, 2747 Reel Street Harrisburg, PA with viewing and visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. and burial in Paxtang Cemetery.
