LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Gethsemane Church of God In Christ, 701 E. Pinhook Rd., Lafayette, LA for Mrs. Verna M. Benjamin, 86, who entered eternal rest on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at The Carpenter’s House in Lafayette, LA. Interment will be Lafayette Memorial Park in Lafayette, LA.

Elder Abram Freeman, Sr., Pastor of Acts of Love Christian Fellowship Church of God In Christ, will be officiating the funeral service.

Mrs. Benjamin’s memories are being cherished by: her two sons, Wendell (Mary) Benjamin of Louisiana and Mark Benjamin of Lafayette, LA; one daughter, Pamela Benjamin Spann of Lafayette, LA; one sister, Diane Smith; six grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by: her husband, Samuel Benjamin; her parents, John and Odelia Green Smith; and one son, Marshall Benjamin; four brothers, Melvin, Calvin, Levoris and John Lee Smith; and two sisters, Eva Celestine and Delores Matthews; and one son-in-law, Jessie Spann.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Gethsemane Church of God In Christ.
