Evangelist Cynthia Arlene Taylor-Shannon, 69, of Henrico, formerly of Darby, Pennsylvania, died August 12, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Revel Nick Taylor and Ruby Novella Jones Taylor. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Shannon and three siblings, Doris L. Smith, Karen J. Barksdale and Revel Mayfield. Surviving are her son, Kenneth D. Taylor, Sr.; three grandchildren, Kiya N. Taylor, Kenneth D. Taylor II and E'Moni A. Taylor; three siblings, Joyce Houghton, Debra Cain (William) and Willette Bryant (Dennis); two uncles, Milton Courts (Amini) and Terry Courts; three aunts, Dorothy Johnson, Edna M. Jones and Celeste Jones; a host of nieces, nephews, two bonus daughters, Dwana Jones and Rochelle Durham; a bonus aunt, Valerie Fuller, other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Scott's Chapel, 116 E. Brookland Park Blvd. Bishop Joseph Armstrong IV officiating. Interment private.
