It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Robert Ervin Mitchell
Brother Robert “Bob” Ervin Mitchell was born November 26, 1947, in Crawfordville, Florida to the now late Annie Kate and Doshan Riles. He grew up in a loving family surrounded by love and was the eldest of four children.
At an early age, he received Christ as his personal savior. Bob was a lifelong member of Brim Fountain AME Church, where he faithfully served until his passing. Bob was always very dutiful in the church and could always be depended upon whenever there was a need. A man of few words, Bob had a servant’s heart. He took pride in serving those around him and being an example for others to follow.
Bob was employed for 40 plus years with General Dynamic, formerly known as Olin Powder Plant as an Operator. Bob was well liked amongst his superiors for his stellar work performance and his dedication to the job he was tasked with.
Bob also was an Alcoholic Anonymous Abuse Counselor for Wakulla County for over 30 years. He volunteered his time and resources counseling countless individuals leading them to lives of sobriety and teaching them coping mechanisms for dealing with life struggles without alcohol.
Those left to cherish his life and legacy include: a sister, Josephine Riles, Crawfordville, Florida; loving nieces and nephews he raised as his own, Kaytonia Riles and Sierra Webster of Crawfordville, FL; Angelica Webster and Travis Riles, both of Tallahassee, FL; great nieces and nephews; Chardonay Riles, Trevon Riles, Tamya Riles, Tamiria Riles, Travis Riles, Jr. Ashanti Melton, Dimonte Riles, Marquise Riles, Sameron Brinson, Dimonte Riles, Daxton Riles and Genesis Ward; devoted friend, Lillian Walker of Tallahassee, FL and many other sorrowing family, friends, and loved ones.
