Joseph Alexander Zamora, beloved son, brother and friend passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024 in El Paso, TX at the age of 45.
Joseph was born on April 4, 1979 in Albuquerque, NM to Joe Zamora and Alice Baeza Villaseñor. He was a gentle soul who wouldn’t hurt anyone- he would rather spend 30 minutes chasing a fly out of the house, than to kill it.
Joseph was a street performer in Las Vegas, NV, known for his vibrant performances and artistic flair. He was an intricate craftsman, making costumes to wow the crowds. He also enjoyed singing, dancing, and making music to brighten the days of everyone who encountered him.
He is survived by his mother, Alice Baeza Carter; father, Joe Zamora and his wife Sara Jean; and his mom, Margie Gomes; grandmother, Hortencia Sierra Zamora; siblings: Salina M. Munoz and partner Ro Fontana of Deming, NM, Christina R. Abalos and partner Ismael Espinoza of Deming, NM, and Christopher A Zamora and wife Bernadina of Silver City, NM; nieces and nephews- Dontai Zamora of Silver City, NM, Angelica Munoz, Alejandra Munoz, Robert Munoz, Leandra Arenibas, Joshua Arenibas and Abraham Cisneros, Jr. all of Deming, NM.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Leandra (Virgina) Baeza Valverde of Deming, NM; grandfather, Celso T. Zamora of Silver City, NM; brother, Thomas Lee Sanchez of Silver City, NM; and uncle Aaron Zamora of Las Cruces, NM.
Joseph’s vibrant spirit and the joy he brought to the world will be deeply missed by all who knew him and his legacy will live on in the memories of those who had the pleasure of watching him perform and in the many crafted treasures he created.
A celebration of Joseph’s life will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. at the Church at the Butte.
