Born in Macon to the parentage of the late Willie Lee Moore, Sr. and Susie Moore Harris, he attended Bibb County Public Schools graduating from Ballard Hudson High School. He attended First Baptist Church and retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad.

Survivors include: sons, Robert A. (Yvette) Moore, Jr. and Rodney M. Moore; 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
