Ms. Betty Evelyn Rogers, 71, of Gadsden, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2024.

Ms. Betty E. Rogers began life’s journey on November 28, 1952, to the late O’Tearl Trimble Smith and the late James Hoyt Almon. Ms. Rogers accepted Christ as her Lord and personal Savior. She received her education in the Gadsden City school system and later obtained her GED. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family and friends. She had a passion for caring for the clients at The Renaissance
House in Gadsden, Alabama. In her free time, she often enjoyed going to the casinos for relaxation. Ms. Rogers was blessed with five children.


On Friday, August 23, 2024, GOD saw fit to call “Betty” or “Bet” (as many knew her by) home. Her probationary status on this earth ended and her permanent reign with the Lord began. We will all miss her contagious smile and kind heart, but she will never be forgotten.


Ms. Rogers was preceded in death by her mother, O’Tearl Trimble Smith; stepfather, Lebron Smith; father, James Almon; son, Jeffery Trimble; sisters, Arleena Trimble and Gaynell Wilber; and brothers, Jerome Trimble and James Trimble.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: daughters, Barbara Trimble, Pamela Huntley, Jennifer Hill, and Tara Williams; sisters, Donna (Amiri) Hickman of Knoxville, TN, Rinkie Y. Almon of Boston,
MA, Veronica Denis of Boston, MA, Floriece (Jacob) Holland of Boston, MA, and Chanel Koonce of Indianapolis, IN; brothers, Dale Trimble of Gadsden, AL, James C. (Irene) Almon of Boston, MA, and Donnie (Priscilla) Koonce of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; grandkids, Jeffery Trimble, Jr., LaShawn Trimble, Brittney Trimble, Wydrika Trimble, LaToyia Cothren, Wendell Cothren, Christina Cothren, Charles (Dominique) Manning, Alexis Manning, Sedrick Hill, Ariauna Feaster, Jerborey Williams, Santavious Williams, and Jaylon Williams; twenty-six great-grandchildren; nieces, Pennyann Trimble-Park, Letitia Trimble, Derrick Trimble, Tamara (Carl) Mostella, Dawn Hickman, Amirah Hickman, Kischa Burton, Tyesha Cowans, Rukia White, Valarie Holland, Miatavia Smith, Macy Smith, Cacy Smith, and Yasmine Gray; nephews, Dale Trimble, Jr., Cody Callaway, Harrison Williams, Malik Holland, Curtis Cowans, and Asah W. Almon; and a host of cousins, including her special cousin, Penny Martin. She will also be missed by her stepmother, Edna Mae Almon of Boston, MA, and special friends, Lucretia Huntley, De’Aundrea Dupree, Calvin Rogers, and Calvin Williams.

Public viewing will be Friday, August 30,2024 from 12noon-6pm at West Gadsden Funeral Home.
