Donald “Don” Hughes, aged 61, of Jackson, MS, passed away August 23, 2024. Born January 29, 1963, in Jackson, MS, he was the son of Leatha Hughes and Jimmy Hughes.

Don was known for his readiness to help others and his dependable nature. His life was marked by a profound love for books, especially those by John Grisham, and he had an enduring passion for music and cars. Don spent many joyful hours watching the “Colts” football games, fishing, playing cards, and raising dogs.

He is survived by his mother, Leatha Hughes, two aunts, Ruth “Bae” Britton and Queen Williams; children Donald Jamal and Madison L’Don Hughes; siblings Helen, Janice, Gail, Pamela, Alex, and Jimmy Joe Hughes; special friends Johnnjula “Meechie” Hubbard; a host of nieces and nephews; and proceeded in death by his father, Jimmy Hughes, and nephew, Trevoris “Trey” James.
