On January 2, 1926 (Inez), Edna Fuller Lee was the 7th born child to Willie Alonza Fuller and Fannie Taylor Fuller (both deceased) in Pittsylvania County, Callands, Va. When Edna was a teenager, the Fuller Family moved to Henry County, Martinsville, Va. There, she completed her education and went to work for 15 years as a Machine Operator and Assistant Floor Lady at Jobbers Pants.
In November 1958, Edna moved to New Rochelle, New York, where she began working as a Domestic Engineer, maintaining and managing several households, including those of the Potters and the Hawkins. These families have shifted from employers to devoted friends over a 60+ year relationship. While in New Rochelle, she met the love of her life, Samuel Lee (deceased). She and Sam were devoted members of Shiloh Baptist Church in New Rochelle, N.Y., where she served on the Flower Guild.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Willie and Fannie Fuller, siblings Onyx Clarence Fuller, Mildred Elizabeth Fuller Harris, Sadie Augusta Fuller Warrington, Ennis Rhylen Fuller, Annie Mae Fuller Moore, Dorothy Hazel Fuller, Julius Delbert Fuller, Edith Rose Fuller Belcher, Elsie Frances Fuller Dodson, and Willie Roslyn Fuller Yellock.
She leaves to mourn her passing her devoted niece Debbie Pritchett (Warren); their children, Brian Pritchett and Jason Pritchett (Melinda); Christine Fuller, Greg Fuller (Connie); great-grandchildren Ayla, Ethan, and Carter Pritchett; Phyllis (Candy) Belcher, Jeff Belcher (Wanda), Carolyn and Dawn Hairston; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A visitation service will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. with the funeral service at 12 noon at the C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home, 301 Fayette St., Martinsville, VA. Interment will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens, 869 Parkway Dr., Martinsville, VA.
There will be no public viewing.
