Her life’s story, one of resilience and love, began with a spark in Youngstown and unfolded into a tapestry of flavors and laughter known to all who were touched by her grace. In her younger days, her faith was formed as a member of Mount Gilead Baptist Church. She attended East High School and represented proudly as a golden bear.

From her beloved hometown to the countless kitchens she graced with her culinary prowess, Sherry's spirit always shone vibrantly. Sherry enjoyed solace and self-sufficiency in the kitchen as a caterer, sharing her love through food. Her creativity and dedication as a self-employed caterer were a true reflection of her generous, yet ambitious soul. Sherry's culinary skills were appreciated by those who tasted her delectable entrees.

Beyond her hometown, Sherry’s adventurous soul planted the seeds of a life that would bloom in various communities and states, seeking out new experiences and spreading her infectious joy wherever she roamed.

Her spirit was a beacon of fun, forever spreading light wherever she went. You never had to read Sherry’s mind as her authentic and expressive nature shone brightly with transparency.

Once married to Tyrone Gordon, she bore four amazing children into this world. Though her marriage saw its own sunset, the friendship continued to endure throughout the years, a testament to the resilience and strength of their character and mutual respect.

While they mourn her loss, yet celebrate her ultimate healing, Sherry’s children- Sonya Gordon, Issac Gordon and Lauren Gordon all of Youngtown remained her pride and joy. Sherry's journey was colored by the love of her siblings, Brenda Peeples, Regina Jones, Anthony Peeples, and Jason Jackson, who shared in her laughter and tears.
