Mrs. Teacora Fayette Bowman

Teacora Fayette McBryde Bowman passed away at Hospice of the Piedmont on Tuesday, September 3, 2024. She was born on May 17, 1952, to Henry Bacon (deceased) and Theo McBryde (deceased).

She was educated in the educational system of NYC. She simultaneously worked for over 30 years at Harris and Covington Hosiery and Pennybyrn retirement home until her retirement in 2022. Teacora dedicated over thirty years as a (CNA) Certified Nursing Assistant. She loved providing quality care to the elderly who suffered from dementia and for people that were unable to care for themselves.

Teacora affectionately known by close friends and family as “Faye” had an unwavering devotion to studying and understanding the teachings of the Bible. She became an ordained minister in 1994.

She was a member of Williams Memorial C.M.E. Church where she passionately and excitedly preached the word so all ages and levels could understand. Teacora had a fervent love for God and the power of God, which sustained her throughout her life.

She had an infectious laugh and smile and loved her family. Teacora looked forward to family gatherings and cooking everyone’s favorite meals. She was known for the best chicken salad, salmon patties and punch bowl cake. She enjoyed recalling stories about her children and her life in New York.

She was raised in Jamaica, NY until the age of three when she moved to Maxton, NC where she lived with Ma Cleo for a few years and then moved to High Point, NC making it her forever home.

She is preceded in death by Mrs. Cleo McBryde Malloy (Ma Cleo), sister, Beatrice McBryde Holmes, brother, Jackie J. McBryde and her niece Angela Alexander Taylor.

She leaves to cherish her memories: two devoted daughters, Tawana Price (Melvin Jr.) of High Point, NC and Linnette Myers-Drumwright (Wayne) of Greensboro, NC; two Granddaughters, Lachelle Elder (Quentin) of Liberty, NC and Cyre’ Price Pearson (Dytosh Sr.) of Greensboro, NC, two grandsons; Everett Gaskins Jr. (Teaira) and Melvin (Tre’) Price III (Shay), all of High Point, NC. Fourteen great-grandchildren: Z’kyra, Sir-Quentin, Skylar, Quri, Kristian, Ke’Andre, Jada, Rylei, Ka’myra, Dytosh Jr, Xayana, Xavier, Gianna, and Thyri; two sisters, Angela Baldwin (James) of High Point, NC , and Betty Brower of Maxton, NC; one brother John Robert Christian of Maxton, NC, as well as a host of nieces and nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends, And the love of her life Russell Randolph of High Point, NC whom she enjoyed watching movies with, trying new foods and dancing.

Her impact extended far beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will truly be missed.

Funeral service will be held Friday, September 13, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at Williams Memorial C.M.E. Church. Interment will follow at Guil-Rand Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Public viewing will began at 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
