Obituary For Rev. Vernon Hooks

Rev. Vernon Lee Hooks Nashville, TN 63 years old, born in Lynch, Kentucky and raised by his grandparents there, died unexpectedly on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn. He graduated from Cumberland High School, Cumberland, Kentucky, in 1970. He also graduated from American Baptist Theological Seminary in 1981, David Lipscomb University in 2003 (Master's in Biblical Studies), and University of Kentucky, 2006 (Master's in Rehabilitation Counseling. Pastor Hooks became Senior Pastor of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Clarksville, Tenn. in 1980, where he remained until his untimely death on Saturday, March 19, 2016. Visitation for Rev. Hooks will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2016, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Terrell Broady Funeral Home, Sunday, March 27, 2016 at Hooker Funeral Home, Clarksville, Tenn., from 1-7 p.m., and services will be held on Monday, March 28, 2016, visitation 10-11 with funeral to follow at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 1300 Rossview Road, Clarksville, Tenn., Rev. Dr. James Bailey, officiant & Pastor Harold Robinson, Eulogist. Interment Rossview Cemetery. Hooker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 931-645-6435
