Rodney Carnell McCrae was born on October 9, 1974, in Tifton, GA to the late Carnell Bloodworth and Doretha and Richard Johnson. He was the first born of five children. He graduated from Tift County High School in May of 1993. During his life, he attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC), where his focus was Business administration. He was an entrepreneur and started a couple of businesses. In 1994, Mr. McCrae received a prophecy at Southern Avenue Church of God, which was, “The Lord was going to bless him to write songs, and the songs would be heard on albums.” He believed it and stepped out in faith. Because of his obedience, the Lord began to send him songs. The Lord used Bishop Q.S. Caldwell to further confirm the prophetic Word for him during that same year. In 1997, Mr. McCrae accepted the call into the Ministry, where he diligently worked to win lost souls, evangelize, and minister through music.

In August of 1998, the Lord gave Minister McCrae the Scripture, 1 Chronicles 16:4 and from that he established the Recruiters For Christ Ensemble (RFCAE). The group originated with over 25 members, of which 15 persevered through much suffering and persecution. In January 2000, the Lord blessed Minister McCrae and RFCAE to sign a recording contract with Mr. William Young, CEO and N'Twine Records, based out of Columbus, GA. He wrote and recorded several songs.

He was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Bloodworth and his paternal and maternal grandmothers, Lillian Bloodworth Webb and Mother Sallie J. Walker. He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Zipporah and Zoe McCrae; his parents, Richard & Doretha Johnson; two brothers, Rickey & Reggie Johnson; three sisters, Salandara Mallory, LaKeyla & LaKayla Johnson; two God-sisters, Grace Brooks-Opc & Jasmine Sears; one God-brother, Antonio Brooks and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Please keep the family lifted up in prayer at this time.
