Jeanne Randall Woodard, 94, of Richmond, peacefully transitioned to heaven on Tuesday, September 10, 2024. She was born on the blessed day of June 1, 1930, to loving parents Matthew Everett Randall and Juanita Hunter Randall.

Jeanne was raised in a loving Christian home and accepted Jesus Christ at an early age at Hood Temple A.M.E. Zion Church where she was still an active member until her passing.

Jeanne was educated in the Richmond Public School system and furthered her education by obtaining her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in clinical social work at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Always an advocate for children and families, Jeanne spent her professional career at Friends Association for Children as Coordinator of Family Social Services, then at the Virginia Department of Social Services as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and retired as an elementary school teacher at George Mason Elementary School in Richmond, Virginia.

Jeanne was an avid reader, loved gardening, singing in the church choir, and always had a basket of yarn near for her crochet projects.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil ‘Woody’ Woodard, Sr; father and mother, Matthew Randall, Sr. and Juanita Hunter Randall; sons, Michael Randall, Victor Randall, and Cornell Randall; brothers, Richard Randall, Matthew Randall, Jr, Mark Randall, and James Randall; sisters, Lumelia Turner, Mae Sue Carter, Olivia Thompson, Annie Loadholt, and Judith Carpenter; nephews. James Randall, William Daniels, Jerry Cooper, and Bryant Loadholt; nieces, Marcia Branch and Juanita Mickie.

She leaves to mourn her, two sisters, Lena Daniels-Epps, and Sharrye Cooper; her grandson, Victor Randall, Jr; and her granddaughters, Melanie Randall, Michelle Goodall, Monique McCarthy, and Youlanda Randall; a host of great grand children; five nephews, Reuben Carter, Matthew Randall III, Troy Mickie, Christopher Mickie, and Arthur Mickie; four nieces, Juanita Randall, Jocelyn Murrain, Debra Randall and Donna Hamilton; devoted great-nephews, Ashiki Branch, Jamal Branch, and Hassan Randall; devoted great-niece, Michelle Branch, Katoya Williams, and Billie Lee Randall, other relatives and friends.

Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd., where viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday, September 19, 2024.
