Funeral service for Elder Brinson Poythress, 73, of Opelika, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 14, 2024, at The City Church, 2900 Waverly Parkway, Opelika, AL 36801, Pastor Randy Cowart will officiate.

Elder Poythress, who passed away Friday, September 6, 2024 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL, was March 19, 1951 in Hogansville, GA.

Public viewing will be Friday, September 13, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

He leaves to cherish his memory: devoted wife, Wanda “Ann” Poythress of Opelika, AL; four children, Brenda Poythress of LaGrange, GA, Brinson (Nepefteria) Poythress III of Jonesboro, GA, Abraham (Deena) Poythress of Stockbridge, GA and Katina Finley of Germany; seven grandchildren, Tabitha Poythress, Brinson Poythress IV, Aiden Poythress, Zoe Poythress, Maxon Poythress, Jamison Gates and Steve Poythress; one brother, Sam Poythress of LaGrange, GA; two sisters-in-law, Prella Finley of Sandy Springs, GA and Annie Finley of Snellville, GA; three brothers-in-law, AL (Valerie) Finley, John Finley both of Opelika, AL and Alvin (Sheree) Finley of Montgomery, AL; three special nieces, Tamika Smith, Melissa Smith both of LaGrange, GA and Tangela Smith of Columbus, GA; a special cousin, Annie Inez Patterson of LaGrange, GA; a host nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
