James Howard Smith 'Smitty' Nashville, TN Age 76, born July 1, 1940 in Lexington, TN departed his life on November 29 at TriStar Centennial Medical Center (Davidson Co.) Nashville, TN. He was employed at Vanderbilt Hospital ER for 45 years retiring in June 2009. James Howard was preceded in death by parents, Viola Pearson Smith & Willie Smith, brother, Leroy Smith and James had (1) son James Victor Smith who died the same night only a few hours apart. Forever to cherish his memory : Devoted Sister Willie Mae Dabbs and brother Jerry Paul Smith - both of Lexington, TN. Aunt - Lois Montague Pearson - Raleigh, NC; (2) devoted Nieces: Paulette Dobbins (Hendersonville, TN) Lisa Dabbs Perry (Jackson, TN); Grand Son Alex Coleman Smith, Nieces & Nephews (Angela, Deloria, Rhonda, Chonda, Sharon (Cordell) and Ronnie). Daughter in law - Shari Smith (Nashville, TN). A very caring & special friend - Theresa Allison and many other family members & co-workers & close friends of Vanderbilt (ER) Hospital. Visitation Fri - Dec. 16th 1 - 7 pm family present 5-7 pm. Visitation will be held Saturday December 17, 2016 11-12 with funeral to follow at Pilgrim Rest MB Church - 33 Lewis Street Lexington, TN 38351 Interment in Lexington Cemetery.
