FAYE JOYCE SIMMONS, daughter of the late Maggie Jessup Taylor and the late Charlie Nathan Taylor, was born in Mount Airy, North Carolina.
She was educated in North Carolina and graduated from J. J. Jones High School. She was a member of Rose of Sharon Baptist Church.
Faye loved to go to the casino as well as playing cards, Tunk and Duces with family. She loved to go shopping and also loved her scratch offs. She had a heart of gold and she loved all.
Faye Joyce Simmons, at the age of 80 years, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at the River Bend Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Lucy Taylor, Jossie France, Annie Goins and Betty Bradey; her brothers, Lindo Taylor, Willie Taylor, Harry Taylor, Curtis Taylor, Charlie Will Taylor, Jessie Taylor and Eugene Taylor; her grandson, Andrew James Simmons and her “blood sister”, Emma Bradey.
Faye leaves to celebrate her life and to cherish precious memories of her, her sons, James Simmons, Andre Simmons and Kevin Simmons; her lovely daughter, Faithe Simmons; her stepson, Robert Brownlee; her stepdaughters, Nicole Corbin, Melinda Anderson, Nishel Brownlee and Niesha Brownlee; her sister, Estelle Bridges; her daughter-in-law, Tasha Fleming; her goddaughter, Jessica Tate; her grandchildren, Jermaine Simmons, Denise Simmons, Lapreya Simmons, Chrisy Simmons, Preston Simmons, Eddie Simmons, Andre Simmons, Jr., Devon Simmons, Neisha Carter, Shucara Dearing and Cheyenne House; her nieces, Ersla King, Maggie Bailey, Mary Porter, Joann James, Perlicilia France, Prophetess Gloria Herring, Estelle Vivian Cannon, Serena Sloane and Julia Mitchell; her nephews, Walter Goins, Charles France, Wayne France, Rev. Alvin Q. Taylor, Sr., Kerry Sawyers, Rickey Sawyers and James Taylor; her sister-in-law, Errie M. Taylor and a host of other relatives and friends.
Her life will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2024 in the Chapel of the Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton with viewing and visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. and burial in William Howard Day Cemetery.
