Annie Ruth Edwards

Annie Ruth Beasley Edwards was born on April 8, 1949 in Union Point, Georgia, where her life journey of compassion, curiosity, and resilience began. She was the beloved daughter of the late Della Mae Shavers and James Beasley. As the oldest of eight siblings, she was raised by her maternal grandmother, Ada Belle Shavers Smith and Grover Smith. She was educated in the Greene County School System and graduated from F. T. Corry High School, Class of 1967. Moving to Atlanta in 1989, her life changed and her seed grew in a different direction.

She was many things to many people: a loving parent and grandparent, a cherished friend, and a happy/positive soul to all who knew her. Annie was known for her ability to bring not only love to eve room that she entered but also a sense of fashion with her color-coordinated outfits. Her hobbies include cooking, traveling, hosting talent shows and fishing, just to name a few. At home, she was a pillar of strength and a source of boundless love and there are many memories that she left with those who knew the real her. She embraced the joys of family life, loving her children the best that she could at E time, while spoiling her grandkids every chance that she got in their younger years. She consistently attended the Atlanta Dreams games which eventually became family dates with her grandkids. As the years evolved, "Charlie Last Name Wilson" concerts entered the date night lineups with her grandkids and daughter, Minyatta. It's good to know that she is at peace and is getting the rest that she deserves.

Her memory is cherished by her children: Sedric (Sheila) Beasley), Minyatta (Elvin) Green and Kimba Edwards; Her grandkids: Monqavious (Ariel) Johnson, Malik Johnson, Montego K. Johnson, Sean Beasley and Walter Wimbush, Jr; Great-granddaughter: Aria; Siblings: Josephine Lester, Milton (Yvonne) Thomas, ¬Denice (Marshall} Graham, Brenda (Frank) Shelwood, Stanley (LaTrece) Thomas and Anthony (Cynthia) Thomas; sister: Nadine Thomas Preceded her in death. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends that she communicated with often.
