Mr. Robert Sullivan

Passed 09/19/2024

Mr. Robert Sullivan passed away peacefully at home on September 19, 2024, surrounded by his wife and daughters. He was born on April 30, 1952, in Washington, DC, to the late Thomas and Marion K. Sullivan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Melvin Paul Sullivan, Thomas Sullivan, and Wardell Sullivan.

After graduating high school, Robert joined the United States Army and served for two years before receiving an honorable discharge. Following his military service, he pursued a career as a car salesman and gained renown in the field. He worked as a salesman for 355 Toyota in Rockville, Maryland, for several years.

In 2005, Robert and his wife Emma relocated to Jamestown, NC. He continued working as a car salesman for Rice Toyota and later moved on to Van York Toyota, where he continued his deep passion for customer service. His love for people enabled him to connect with everyone, bringing the gift of joy and laughter to all those he interacted with

Robert was known as a generous person who always helped those in need. He had a great sense of humor and very witty with his words. Robert was a dedicated member of Word of Life Tabernacle. He enjoyed sharing his wisdom with the youth and assisting with the God Squad and T4 Transforming Teens Through Truth, guiding them through the teaching of the Bible. He also participated in the Drama Team and served as Pastor Diggs's personal assistant (PPA).

Robert leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 30 years, Emma Sullivan, of the home; one son, Robert B. Sullivan; two daughters, Tonya Davis and Tracie Pollard; one grandson; three granddaughters and one great-grandson; three sisters, Deborah Gaskins (James), Arlene Young (Jerome) and Renay Sullivan-Green (Norris); two sisters-in-law, Juanita Sullivan and Denise Sullivan. A host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

We will miss our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather; many others will miss a friend and brother in Christ. Robert has touched many and will remain in our hearts.
