Janice Denise Sutton Barton was on born January 06, 1969 in Rochester, New York to Mattie Sutton and the late John F. Sutton. She later met and married Patrick Barton. One child was born to this union.

Public viewing will be held Friday, September 27, 2024 from 3:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Davis Funeral Home, 725 Beech Street, Louisville, GA

Celebration of Love will be held Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 12 Noon at First Shiloh Baptist Church, 2343 Windsor Spring Road, Augusta, GA. Interment will be held in Belle View Cemetery, Meadowbrook Drive, Augusta, GA

She accepted Christ at a young age at the Antioch Baptist Church where she was a very active member. She sang in multiple choirs and a gospel ensemble over the years. She directed the young adult choir several where she left an indelible mark on many youths.

She later met and married Patrick Barton. One child was born to this union.

She attended Edison Technical High School but ultimately graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School of Rochester, New York. She briefly attended Paine College but later earned an Associates in Human Services from Monroe Community College. Janice had a passion for helping others, she was a licensed nail technician, EKG technician and a Certified nursing assistant before finding her true calling working with Developmentally Disabled persons for Finger Lakes DDSO, from which she retired in 2016.

Janice was predeceased in death by her father, John F Sutton, paternal grandmother Gladys Sutton and maternal grandparents, Mattie and Joseph Daniel Sr., uncles: Nathaniel Sutton, Henry Sutton, Daniel Sutton. Jr, Bennie Miller, Raleigh Sutton and Alton Sutton and aunts Bernette Sutton and Bettye Laddymore. Sister- in laws Bonnie V Barton (Laroda), and Penny Samuels.

She leaves to cherish her memory husband Patrick Barton of Rochester, NY; daughter Jazmyn Barton; granddaughter Ta’Jaiyah Barton; mother Mattie Sutton; sister Erica (Melvin) Woods, all of Augusta, Ga. Sister-in laws Velda Tillison, Karen Mathis, Canaveral Barton of Rochester, New York. Brother-in laws Mark Barton and Leroy Barton Jr. of Rochester, New York. One godsons, Nazir Sutton and Charles Phillips; aunts and uncles: Dora Daniel of Murfreesboro, TN, Maggie Daniel, Mary Brown and Arlene Daniel of Wadley, Georgia. Patricia Sutton, of Rochester, New York and Barbara Jean (James) Parker of Jamaica, Queens, New York, Nettie Sutton of Rochester, New York, Joseph Daniel Jr. of Sanford, Florida and Artis (Nettie) Daniel of Wadley, Georgia, Wilmer (Dorothy)Sutton; great aunts and great uncles: Annie Sutton of Rochester, New York and Pauline Laster of Sanford, Florida, FL, Willie Fred Brown of Lake Monroe and Howard Swint of Sandersville, Georgia and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
