09/20/1939 - 10/15/2024

Overseer Ada V. White-Lee, 85, of Georgia, formerly of Gadsden, AL, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.

Overseer Ada Vesta Lee was born in Gadsden, AL on September 20, 1939, and resided in Fayetteville, Georgia. She was the 4th of 10 children born to the late Elder Jennie B and Deacon John H. White. Her parents, who were members of the Gadsden #1 AOH Church of God under the leadership of the late Overseer Mattie Scruggs, taught their children the love of Jesus Christ and the Apostolic way.

At the age of 2, she was put on chairs and tables to sing at funerals and programs. As a girl, she was part of a group that formed called “The Holy
Echoes” who would sing at churches and conventions. As a young lady she rededicated her life back to the Lord and God healed her of stage 4 ovarian cancer. Overseer Ada Lee was a warrior for the Lord, the AOH Church and the entire body of Christ for over 50 years.

She was united in holy matrimony to the late Connie Mack Powell and to this union three children were born, Victor Powell, Thea Powell and Derick Powell and a special love for her in-laws, Alder (Dadee) and Mamie (Big Momma) Powell were developed.

She later joined in holy matrimony with the late Harrison Lee and to this union two children were born, Ve’Va Lee-Anderson and Jennifer Lee.

Overseer Lee was a member of the AOH Church of God her entire life, and held many offices such as; choir director, acting Sunday School Superintendent, Local Youth President, District Youth Secretary, Mother, Missionary, Willing Worker President, District Public Relation worker and Prophet, etc.

For the past 40 years, her faithfulness was showcased as she traveled from Atlanta, Georgia to many parts of Alabama, with God always providing a way for her to do the work that He and the AOH church called her to do. At times these responsibilities were accomplished without finance or her own transportation, yet God made a way. For many years she traveled to numerous places conducting a special consecration service that was started by her late mother and pastor, Elder Jennie B. White and the late Mother Ruth Williams. 23 of the 40 years, Overseer Lee’s dedication was also displayed as she traveled back and forth from Atlanta, at times three days a week to pastor God’s church.

She was also a Prayer warrior who was available at any time, day or night to those in need of an answer or request from the Lord. In 2011, she prayed God’s blessings for the upcoming school year at Gordon Stater University after being asked by the administration to do so. She prayed out on many street corners and communities around the city of Attalla/Gadsden and in other cities and states as well.

Before her transition she held the title of Overseer of District # 2, AOH National and North Central Alabama State Missionary, while holding the position of pastor of Attalla # 2 and New Born AOH Church of God.
