Mrs. Mary Shaw, a resident of Montgomery, AL, passed October 11, 2024. A funeral service will be held Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. from Brewer Heights Baptist Church. Burial will be Tuesday, October 22, 2024 in Alabama National Cemetery.

Mary L. Shaw, born March 2, 1947 in Ramer, AL but moved to Montgomery when she was 4 years old. She was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. Mary met and married Isaac Shaw, and together they were blessed with nearly 58 years of marriage, with their anniversary approaching on October 30th. This union produced three children. Mary began her walk with the Lord in 1978 while in Schwabach, Germany. Her love for service and her community was reflected in her 42-year career in retail, working with AAFES, McRae’s, Parisian, and Belk, where she was beloved by both customers and co-workers. In addition to her retail career, she was a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant for 14 years, sharing her passion for beauty and confidence with many. In 1992, Mary deepened her ministry work by starting outreach at Montgomery City Jail every Wednesday, faithfully serving until COVID in March 2020. She was the founder of We Care Ministries, established on July 24, 2000. This ministry was dedicated to feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, and sheltering the homeless, embodying her heart for service. Mary was a faithful servant of God, an Evangelist at Living Waters, and devoted to spreading the message of God’s love. Her mission was simple yet profound: she wanted everyone to know that God cared about them so deeply that He sent His son, Jesus, to save them. Mary passed on October 11, 2024. Her legacy of love, service, and faithfulness will continue to inspire all who knew her. Mary is survived by her husband, Isaac Shaw, Sr., Children: Faye Shaw (Kevin) Jenkins, Kecia M. Shaw, Isaac (Kesha) Shaw Jr., Tito L (Michelle)Peterson all of Montgomery AL. Grandchildren: Ijay Davis, Quadry (LaTara) Davis, Isaiah T. (Alysheia) Shaw-Dansby, Kourtney Shaw, Eden Shaw, Gabriel Aponte, Trinity Jenkins, Kevin Jenkins, Jr., Ka'Cii Pritchett, all of Montgomery, AL. Roger Jenkins of Ft. Sill, Oklahoma and Keylen Jenkins of Pensacola, Florida. Great-grandchildren: Jayden Williams, Quadry Davis Jr., Quan'Nashia Morrell, Quan'Niya Johnson,Kynzlee Jenkins, Kynzee Jenkins, and Khloee Jenkins all of Montgomery, AL.
