Houston Thomas Pratt Jr., affectionately known to his family as “Tim”, was born on May 24, 1974, in Anson County, the beloved son of Houston and Beulah Pratt.
At an early age, Houston professed his faith in Christ. He spent his formative years in Anson County, where he graduated from Anson Senior High School in 1992.
Houston had a lifelong passion for cars and earned the nickname “the car whisperer” for his exceptional mechanical skills. He furthered his education at the NASCAR Technical Institute, graduating in 2012 with a degree in Auto Mechanics.
On October 16, 2024, Houston peacefully departed this life at Atrium Health-Pineville in Pineville, NC. His spirit has taken flight, and he now rests in the loving arms of God. He will be deeply missed as a devoted son, brother, father, uncle, cousin, and friend.
Houston was united in marriage to Margie Hubbard until her untimely passing in August 2018.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Willie and Tommie Pratt; his maternal grandparents, Charlie “Brack” Jackson and Maggie Lee Cash; three aunts, Louvenia McCormick, Donnetta Melton, and Annie Ruth Jackson, and two uncles, Everett Pratt and Larry Nelson.
Houston leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving parents, Beulah and Houston Pratt; his daughter, Akia Pratt; his son, Deandre Lewis; his brother, Derrick Chambers; his sister, Altavis Pratt; and his cherished granddaughter, Rylei Parker-Smith. His aunts, Erma Nelson, Garthenia Crowder, and Johnsie Perkins, and uncles, Donnie Pratt (Synetha) and Larry Pratt. He will also be fondly remembered by his special niece, Demya Pratt, his special cousin, Patricia Dixon, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.
His fun-loving spirit and kind heart will live on in all who knew and loved him.
The Homegoing Services will be on Sunday, October 20, 2024, 2:00pm, Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Interment will follow at Westview Memorial Park, Polkton, North Carolina.
The Pratt Family will greet family and friends on Sunday, October 20, 2024 from 1:30-2:00pm at Smith's Memorial Chapel and at all other times at the family residence.
The public viewing will be on Saturday, October 19, 2024 from 3:30-5:30pm.
