Mrs. Georgia Bell Simmons, a resident of Montgomery, AL, passed October 16, 2024. A family hour will be Wednesday, October 23, 2024 from 6-7 P.M. Funeral service will be Thursday, October 24, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. from Eastern Meadows Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Alabama National Cemetery.

Mrs. Georgia Bell Simmons, a resident of Montgomery, AL, passed after a brief illness on Wednesday, October 16 at the age of ninety-one. She was preceded in death by her parents Charlie Long, Sr. and Mable Daisy Long.
Mrs. Simmons was a graduate of George Washington Carver High School and attended Alabama State University, in Montgomery. She retired from teaching at Head Start at Montgomery Community Action Agency after 34 years.
She was added to the Holt Street Church of Christ in her late twenties and became a God-fearing woman who enjoyed bible classes. She later attended and taught Sunday School at the Southside Church of Christ where she worshipped most of her adult life. Then she became a faithful member of Eastern Meadows Church of Christ. She was kind, very compassionate and found comfort and peace in her home.
She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Don Simmons; daughters, Jacqueline (Alton) Abrams; Gwendolyn Mann; son, Ronald (Cordelia) Simmons, Sr. of Montgomery, Alabama; two sisters, Deloris Hosea, and Doris Johnson, Montgomery, Alabama; granddaughters, Abraxas (Dr. Allan) Pickens of Atlanta, Georgia; Erin Simmons of Montgomery, Alabama; grandsons, Roderick (Neoshia) Simmons of Acworth, Georgia; Ronald Simmons, II; Austin (Alena) Simmons of Montgomery, Alabama; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
