JP Smith, Jr. of Blytheville, Arkansas was born May 19, 1961, in Blytheville to JP Smith, Sr and Mary Magdalene Rogers Smith. As a child, JP confessed his hope and belief in Christ and united with Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church serving faithfully as Vice President of the Deacon’s Board. He was a retired employee of NIBCO, Inc. in Blytheville, working there for 41 years.
On Saturday, October 19, 2024, JP was welcomed into his place of rest by his parents, JP Smith, Sr. and Mary Magdalene Rogers Smith, his loving wife, Lorene Smith, one brother, John Henry Smith, and one sister, Shirley Smith Mouton, all of whom preceded him in death.
He will forever be loved and remembered by two sons, JP Smith, III of Blytheville, Arkansas; Tyrone (Keionna) Smith also of Blytheville, Arkansas; three brothers, Pastor ML ( Ellen) Smith of Gosnell, Arkansas; Sylvester ( Diane) Smith also of Gosnell, Arkansas; and Tommy Lee (Shelby) Smith of Blytheville, Arkansas; three sisters, Dorothy Junearick, Rose (Frederick) Wilson and Angelia ( Arthur) Pointer all of Blytheville, Arkansas; a special daughter, Patrice Davis Parnell of Blytheville, Arkansas; nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and many other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, 920 South Lake Street, Blytheville, Arkansas where Dr. Bobby Patterson is the pastor.
Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Moriah where Reverend Chavis Spann will deliver the eulogy with interment to follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
