Nia Smith

Passed 10/19/2024

Beloved daughter and mother, Nia Simone Smith was born on April 13, 1998, to Kimberly Gory Glenn of Pacolet, SC and Reginald Lewis Smith (Charity) of Jonesville, SC. She grew up attending Union County Schools where she loved being an active part of the Yellow Jacket community and was a member of the Junior Varsity and Varsity basketball teams, the track team, the Beta Club, and Future Business Leaders of America. She also became a licensed cosmetologist through her hard work at school.

Nia furthered her education after high school and received both an associate degree and bachelor’s degree from USC Union in 2019. During her time there, she was crowned Miss USC Union Palmetto College.

Nia became a licensed insurance agent after graduation and was most recently employed at Carolina Foothills Family Credit Union where she recently became a Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor.

In addition to her parents, Nia leaves behind three beautiful children—Nylah, Elijah, and Novah—and their father, D’Garyan Jeter. She has also created special memories with her God-sisters—Jazman Shelton Jaydin(Lydia), Whitney Shelton Anderson (Terence), India Spears, Melanie Thomas, and Di’Aundrea Thomas, two “special” sisters—Porsha and Summer Foggie, her adoring maternal grandparents—Nathaniel and Rosa Gory, and her sweet paternal grandmother Lizzie Mae Smith, a host of loving aunts and uncles, countless cousins, and innumerable friends.

Nia was a beautiful soul, full of light, life, and wisdom. She loved deeply and passionately. Though she is gone from her loved ones too soon, her family will take comfort in knowing that weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning (Psalm 30:5).

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at The Worship Center, Roebuck, SC. Burial will be in the Cedargrove Baptist Church Cemetery, Jonesville, SC.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a Smith-Jeter Scholarship Fund at Carolina Foothills Credit Union where Nia worked.
