Graveside service for Markayla Freeman, 31, of Opelika, AL, will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Garden Hills Cemetery, 1218 Frederick Road, Opelika, AL 36801, Reverend Johnny Freeman will officiate.

Ms. Freeman, who passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at her home in Opelika, AL, was born August 10, 1993 in Lee County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Friday, October 25, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

She leaves to cherish her memory: three children, Kaylyn Nelson, Kamora Nelson and Chase Nelson all of Opelika, AL; parents, Mary Freeman of Opelika, AL and James (Sharetha) Dorman, Jr. of Dadeville, AL; four sisters, LaRhonda Dinkins of Waverly, AL, Summer (Ryan) Henning, Jasmine Dorman both of Atlanta, GA and Jamyah Dorman of Smith Station, AL; three brothers, Nicholas Menefee, DeMario Menefield and Hunter Tomblin all of Opelika, AL; paternal grandparents, Betty (John) Pollard of Cusseta, AL; four aunts, Gloria Freeman, Lillie Bell Freeman, Betty Freeman and Belinda Freeman (Larry Mitchell) all of Opelika, AL; two uncles, Johnny Frank Vinson of Phenix City, AL and Keith Dorman of Cusseta, AL; two bonus sisters, Tempest Thomas and Asa Smalls both of Opelika, AL; six cousins, LeKeshia Freeman, LaTasha (Anthony) Lockhart, LaTyra Freeman, Breaunnia Dowdell, Thajia Freeman and Markesia Love all of Opelika, AL; three devoted friends, Jessica Webb of Opelika, AL, Jasmine Johnson of Albany, NY and Rantayvious Menifield of Opelika, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
