The funeral services for the late Mr. Anthony Wilcher, who departed this life on Friday, October 25, 2024, will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. from the Venue 82 Event Center, 1001 East Franklin St., Sylvester, Georgia. Reverend Dr. Larry James will deliver the Eulogy. Burial will follow in the New St. James Baptist Church Cemetery in Oakfield, Georgia. Mr. Anthony Quinn "Ant" Wilcher, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie and Pauline Carter Wilcher, was born on August 15, 1966 in Warwick, Georgia. He departed this life on Friday, October 25, 2024 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia. Anthony was educated in the Worth County School System. He excelled in sports as a member of the Worth County Rams football team. Anthony secured a scholarship based on his football prowess for his college studies at Kennesaw State University.
Anthony was employed at Tri County Ag Services for the last fourteen years until his health declined. He built several genuine relationships with his manager and coworkers, who have remained steadfast in their support of him during his critical times.
In his leisure time, Anthony immersed himself in the tranquility of fishing, the thrill of football, notably the Atlanta Falcons, and the warmth of companionship with friends and family.
In 1987, Anthony met Brenda Johnson on Easter Sunday and was united in Holy Matrimony on July 22, 1988. Anthony and Brenda bonded over their mutual interest in card games as well as their passion for sports and continued to share this throughout their thirty-six years of marriage. This union was blessed with five children.
Anthony was preceded in death by his father- and mother-in-law, Robert, Sr., and Naomi Johnson, sister, Rubie Jean Wilcher, and brother-in-law, Eddie Johnson.
His loving kindness will forever be cherished in the lives of his loving and devoted wife, Brenda Johnson Wilcher; his children, Courtney Johnson, Latasha (Philip) Thompson, Sharindy Johnson, Kendrika Johnson, Annquinnette Wilcher; grandchildren, Kaniya Bryant, Tyanah Solomon, Nakiayah Jackson, Zariyah Wiggs, Kassidy Wiggs, Caiden Solomon, and Kyler Sims; his siblings, Annie Ruth (Charlie) Lovette, Johnnie Mae Wilcher, Alex Wilcher, Johnny (Linda) Wilcher, and David (Zella) Wilcher; aunt, Geraldine Carter; uncle, Henry Carter; brothers-in-law, Robert (India) Johnson, Jr., Michael (Petonia) Johnson, Sr., Walter Johnson, Frederick (Stephanie) Johnson, Sr.; sisters-in-law, Barbara (Jimmy) Wiley, Phyllis (James) Burrow, Elouise (Freddie) Billingslea, Linda (Johnny) Wilcher; thirty-three nieces and nephews and a host of close friends and coworkers.
