Public viewing for Ozell Conway, 87, of Opelika, Alabama, will be from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., Thursday, October 31, 2024, at Harris Funeral Home
Mr. Ozell, son of the late Mr. Mazell Conway and Mrs. Edith Threat McMillian, was born on July 4, 1937, in Lee County, Alabama. At an early age, he confessed Christ and united with Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Opelika, Alabama, where he sang in the choir and participated in the 100 Men in Black Choir.
He graduated from Lee County Training School and was a very skillful painter. Ozell was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
On Friday, October 25, 2024, he departed this life at Lafayette Nursing Home in Lafayette, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his two daughters, Elaine Conway and Barbara Conway; three brothers, Ed Conway, Frank Edwards, and Fred Conway; and one sister, Fannie Bell Harper
He leaves to cherish his precious memory: wife, Betty Conway of Opelika, AL; two children, Kenneth Conway of Opelika, AL and Cassandra Conway of Auburn, AL; two stepdaughters, Christy (Terry) Thomas and Sheridan Williams both of Opelika, AL; twelve grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; one sister, Sarah Edwards of Opelika, AL, one aunt, Bernice Threat of Tuskegee, AL; mother-in-law, Annie Pearl Stinson of Opelika, AL; three sisters-in-law, Thelma Conway of Auburn, AL, Lillie Woodson and Carolyn (Howard) Brooks both of Opelika, AL; seven brothers-in-law, Willie (Brenda) Stinson, Edward Stinson, Thomas (Edna) Stinson, David (Yvonne) Stinson all of Opelika, AL, Bejamin (Beverly) Stinson of Augusta, GA, Alphonza (Vivian) Freeman of Opelika, AL and Derrick (Cathy) Calloway of Alexander City, AL; a host of, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
