Funeral service for D’Tavius Floyd, 35, of Opelika, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, 2259 County Road 290, Opelika, AL, 36801 with interment in the Church Cemetery, Reverend Rodney Jones will officiate.
Mr. Floyd, who passed away Saturday, October 26, 2024, at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL, was born November 4, 1988 in Lee County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Friday, November 1, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Mr. Floyd will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.
He leaves to cherish his memory: mother, Bettye (Benjamin) Williams of Salem, AL; one brother, Jacquavius Thomas of Salem, AL; three stepsisters, Genesis Williams of Troy, AL, Junea (Larry) Freeman of Chicago, IL and LaShonda (Jevon) Sands of Lanett, AL; three stepbrothers, Mykal (Lashunda) Morgan, Anthony (Sade) Johnson and Gregory Jackson all of Opelika, AL; stepmother, Janice Thomas of Opelika, AL; maternal grandfather, Willie Floyd of Salem, AL; paternal grandmother, Lillie Thomas Bell of Opelika, AL; paternal grandfather, Jessie James Bell of Loachapoka, AL; three aunts, Carolyn Floyd, Cassandra (Quinton) Bell-Roberts both of Opelika, AL and Annette Thomas-Daley of Decatur, GA; three uncles, Johnny (Reshonda) Floyd of Montgomery, AL, Terry (Melissa) Bell of Opelika, AL and Felix (Dr. Frankie) Bell of Newnan, GA; godmother, Tonya Brown; four special cousins, Shanndora Greer Johnson, Draya Floyd, Joshia Bell and Aaliyah Floyd; two special friends, Jamal Trimble and Candi Byrd; a host of other relatives and friends.
