On Tuesday, October 29, 2024, Ervin Oakes, 84, of Mt. Vernon, NY and formally of Bassett, VA transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life.

A service of visitation will be held on Monday, November 11, 2024, at 11 a.m. until 12 noon at the C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home, 301 Fayette St., Martinsville, VA. Interment will follow at the Hairston Family Cemetery, Mariah Dr., Fieldale, VA.
