Lonnie Lee Sanders Jr., 50, passed on Friday, November 1, 2024 in Columbus, GA.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. EST, Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church Old Cemetery, 4577 US Highway 80 W, Phenix City, AL. (Crawford, AL Community). Visitation will be Friday, November 8, 2024 from 3-5 p.m. EST.
Lonnie Sanders, Jr. affectionately known by many as “Manchie”, was born December 16, 1973 to Lonnie Sanders, Sr. and the late Frances B. Sanders.
A devoted father and lifelong protector, he passed away peacefully at his home after a long battle with kidney disease, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and resilience. Born with a steadfast spirit, Lonnie spent much of his younger years working as a security guard with Bad Boys Security, a role that suited his strong exterior and courage. But it was his late-in-life blessing of fatherhood that truly defined him. Lonnie's children were his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment with them, providing them with unwavering love and care.
Lonnie was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Sanders, who was his rock, and sister Erica Sanders.
Precious memories will be cherished by his wife, Katrina Sanders; his loving father, Lonnie Sanders, Sr.; his amazing daughter, Igypt Sanders; a daughter he reared, Emery Williams; a son, Donavan “DJ” Sanders; a brother, Johnny Sanders, all of Columbus, GA; two aunts, Beauty Darty of Columbus, GA and Linda (Frank) Heard of Smiths, AL; one uncle, Charlie Ray Fuller of Salem, AL; three great aunts, Ulma Gene Coleman, Ollie Sanders and Christine Starling all of Columbus, GA; one great uncle, Charlie Lee Sanders of Columbus, GA; three nieces and nine nephews; a host of other relatives and friends.
