Sister Evelyn “Sally” Mathis 72, of Vienna GA entered into eternal rest on Saturday November 2, 2024.

It is with heavy hearts but also deep gratitude that we celebrate the life of our beloved Sister Evelyn "Sally" Mathis, who was called home to eternal rest on November 2, 2024. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering faith, which will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Evelyn Wright Mathis, affectionately known as “Sally’’, was born on January 29, 1952, to parents the late Mr. J.C. Wright and the late Mrs. Mary Lou Wright.

Evelyn was educated in the Vienna Industrial High School, Class of 1970. Evelyn was a devoted member of the Holly Grove Baptist Church.

On November 2, 2024, Evelyn transitioned from earthly labor to eternal rest. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. J.C. Wright and Mrs. Mary Lou Wright; brother, Mr. Earl Wright, Sr.; and devoted companion, Mr. Willie Brown.

Left to cherish Evelyn’s memories of love and laughter are her daughter, Mrs. Sekeitha Beal of Vienna, GA; son, Mr. Kenneth “Kag” Mathis of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Mr. Quadarius Hardy of Vienna, GA, Ms. Destiny Beal of Douglasville, GA, Mr. Devin Jordan of Vienna, GA, Ms. Ayannah Mathis of Montgomery, AL, Ms. Kennadi Mathis of Perry, GA, Ms. Deza Beal of Perry, GA, and Mr. Jaleel Beal of Cordele, GA; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Mrs. Rhudene McClendon of Vienna, GA, Mr. Johnny Wright of Vienna, GA, and Mr. Tamp (Mary) Wright of Jonesboro, GA; devoted aunts, Mrs. Bertha Woodson of Unadilla, GA, and Mrs. Shirley Woodson of Vienna, GA; devoted uncle, Mr. Joshua Woodson of Vienna, GA; a devoted goddaughter, Mrs. Rosa Borden of Columbus, GA; devoted cousins, Mrs. Betty McClendon of Vienna, GA, Ms. Connie Woodson of Pinehurst, GA, and Mrs. Debra Cobb of Cordele, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends, including Mrs. Annie Simmons of Cordele, GA, Mrs. Barbara Bembery of Columbus, GA, and Ms. Earlene Salaz of Vienna, GA.
