Ms. Betty Sue Blount, of Gadsden, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2024. She is survived by her loving family. We ask that you keep this family in your hearts and prayers during their time of bereavement.
Mrs. Betty Sue Rudolph Blount was born in Gadsden, Alabama, on April 5, 1946, to the late Willie D. Rudolph and Estella Rush Rudolph.
On Sunday, November 3, 2024, she heard the Master’s call, and she answered.
She gave her life to Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of St. Peter Lutheran Church.
She was a 1968 graduate of Carver High School and attended Gadsden State Community College, where she received her teaching degree.
She worked as the Director of Community Services, and worked as a teacher and Parent Involvement Manager for Head Start for many years before she retired.
She had a heart full of kindness and compassion and loved to help others in any way she could. She was the heart of the family. She enjoyed eating popcorn while watching Lifetime Movie Network and the news. She also enjoyed shopping with her sisters and going to Jack’s with friends after church.
Mrs. Betty Sue was known as the neighborhood mom; she enjoyed cooking for all of those in the neighborhood.
She welcomed everyone with open arms. She enjoyed listening to music and dancing but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was so very loved and will be missed, but never forgotten.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Angela Blount.
She leaves her beautiful memories to: Daughters, Cynthia (Charlie) Brown, and Latisa Blount- both of Gadsden AL. Sons, Joe (Constance) Blount, Carlos Blount, and Robert Taylor- all of Gadsden AL; Special sons/grandsons, TraVeunte’ (Trey) Blount and DaVeunte’ (Bubba) Blount-both of Gadsden, AL; Special Granddaughter, Montana Johnson; Grandchildren/Great Grandchildren/Great Great Grandchildren, Keisha, Nekia, Tyreco, Amanda, ZaRia, ZaMiyah, Adorien, Tamiyah, Mi’Yachta, Jashun, Lawana, Zariauna, Zacchaeus, Jo’Maiya, Tosha, Atarius, Amoriana, ZyJai, Kylie, Zaiden, Zion,Carleigh, ,Caliyah, Caydence, Khloee, MaKailee, Lynox, Legacy, Jazlen, Allanah, Aidan, Aveyana, Jabara, Jai’Cen, Jhe’Nelle, Braxton, Zailee, and Zuri; Sisters, Loretta Blount, Flora (Herman) Sandridge, and Sybil Lewis- all of Gadsden AL; Brother, Tommie Rudolph of Gadsden AL; One living aunt: Abby Patterson- Queens, NY; Special Friends: Ruthie Daniels and Beulah Miller and a host nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Public viewing will be from 4pm-6pm on Friday, November 8, 2024.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at the Mission Baptist Church. Eulogist: Minister Randy Duckett Interment: Oaklawn Cemetery.
