In loving memory of Anthony Kirkland Sr., who left this world on October 31, 2024, in the privacy of his residence. The Youngstown native was born on February 6, 1947, to the union of Dorothy Butler-Kirkland and Paul Rhodes.

Anthony was known for his strong will, self-confidence, and unwavering work ethic. He was a graduate of East High School and a true Golden Bear. Anthony took pride in his service to his country and was honorably discharged from the United States Navy. Anthony was a dedicated employee at General Motors until retirement.

In his leisure time, Anthony found solace in the simple pleasures of life. He had a deep love for fishing and had a knack for lightening the mood with his witty jokes and infectious laughter.

Anthony is survived by his five children Anthony Kirland Jr., Sheri Kirkland, Carolyn Kirkland, Dwayne Kirkland, and Anthonetta Kirkland. In the faces of his many grandchildren, he saw a future filled with hope, promise, and joy — an army of love that will carry his memory forward into eternity.

As Anthony crossed into eternity, he was embraced by his parents.

In accordance with his wishes, an intimate celebration of Anthony's life and legacy was held among his children and grandchildren. The family gathered to honor his memory, shared stories of his life, and discovered serenity in each other's company

For a man who lived life with unwavering determination and a heart full of love, Anthony Kirkland Sr. will forever be remembered for his strength, humor, and the light he brought into the lives of all who knew him. May he rest in peace, knowing that his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who cherished him most.
