Willie Moden 84, of Phenix City, AL passed Wednesday November 6, 2024.
Funeral service will be held at 9:30 A.M. EST on Friday, November 15, 2024 in the C.T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Minister Evelyn Long, officiating. Burial to follow in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. Public viewing is 1:00-4:00 P.M. EST on Thursday, November 14, 2024.
Willie James Moden (Gigg) was born on August 28, 1940 to Annie B. Moden-Knox and Bud Moden in Columbus, MS. Willie entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at his home in Phenix City, AL. Willie confessed his love for Christ at an early age and joined a local church in his home town of Gordo, AL. He was educated in the Pickens County School System (Gordo). He later joined the United States Army in April 1958 and served until retirement in 1984. Where he received a Vietnam Service Metal, a Vietnamese Cross of Galantry with Palm.

Willie was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Moden; daughter, Amber Moden; parents and stepfather, OC Knox and his two sisters, Ida Wells and Zunna Jackson.
He leaves to cherish his memory a very devoted companion, Ms. Willie Mae Thomas; two daughters, Princella Spencer, Tuscaloosa, AL and Daphne Moden; one brother, Timothy Knox (Lynn), Midland, GA; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one aunt, Edna Robinson, Dayton, OH; five nieces; four nephews; extended Lockhart family that he grew to love; a host of cousins and friends.
