Ms. Ivy C. Hardy Williams, 63, of Gadsden, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024.
Obituary
Ms. Ivy Hardy Williams was born January 10, 1961, in Gadsden, AL, to Elder Gilbert Lee Hardy, Sr., and the late Mrs. Jessie Mae Hardy.
She gave her life to Christ at an early age and again, rededicated herself later in life. She was a member of St. John F.B.H. Church of God of the Americas.
She graduated from Litchfield High School in 1979, served our country in the United States Army, and later retired from Publix Groceries as Customer Service Manager.
Ivy resided in Mableton, GA, with her fiancé Larry Powe until the Lord called her home on November 8, 2024.
She was known for her exceptional grilling skills, infectious smile, and kind demeanor. She thoroughly enjoyed yoga, hanging with friends, and drinking sweet tea in the morning, noon, and night.
Ivy was preceded in death by her loving mother, Mrs. Jessie Mae Hardy, and brothers, L.T., Michael, and Gilbert L. Hardy, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories to her loving father, Elder Gilbert Lee Hardy, Sr., fiancé Larry Powe, four brothers and five sisters: Cedric (Sheila) Hardy, Kerri Cammack, Romae Thompson, Trent Hardy, Gerald (Jaida) Hardy, Gerard (Kymberly) Hardy, Patrice (Rory) Calhoun, Alexia (Antonio) Gibson, Juanita Hardy; three aunts: Mrs. Mary Hughes, Mrs. Amanda Baxter, Mrs. Bessie Calloway. She also leaves her fiancé’s siblings; Patricia Jones (Leroy), Shirley Powe, and Samuel Powe of Buckatunna, Mississippi and four very close friends, Vanessa Green, Sharon Smith, Norma Alverez, Ellen Bryant, and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Public viewing will be 8:00 am - 8:00pm on Thursday, November 14,2024.
Funeral services will be at 1:00pm on Friday, November 15, 2024 at the St. Paul Overcoming Church of God. Eulogist: Elder Gilbert Hardy Sr.; Interment: Lincoln Hill Memorial Gardens.
