Deacon William Emerson Turner 82, of Unadilla GA entered into eternal rest on Tuesday November 12, 2024.

Funeral Services for Deacon William Emerson Turner 82, of Unadilla GA will be held Saturday November 23, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at the Little Poplar Springs Baptist Church, Byromville GA. Interment in the Church Cemetery.

Deacon William Turner was born on May 23, 1942, in Byromville, Georgia, to the parentage of the late Eddie and Arie Bell Turner. William attended Vienna High Industrial, class of 1961. He was joined in holy matrimony to Montine Davis, on June 19, 1966; they were married for 52 years, until she preceded him in death. Together, he and Montine became foster parents and fostered over 200 children; two of which they adopted, and three others they called their own.

William graduated from Albany State College in 1973 with a Bachelor Degree in Business Education. He was a proud member of the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity.
William was a member of Little Poplar Springs Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and as church secretary.

Deacon Turner was employed at Firestone, Southern Frozen Foods, Georgia Pacific (retired), and the Dooly County School System (retired). His hobbies included farming, watching sports with his sons and friends, and spending time with family and friends. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren
were his pride and joy.

The Saturday before his passing, he went to see
his favorite college football teams (ASU Rams vs FVSU Wildcats) play at the Fountain City Classic in Columbus, Georgia, with two of his daughters, granddaughters, and son-in-law. He also went to church on Sunday, even though he wasn’t feeling well. He lived his life to the fullest even to the end.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a child, Tellis Fort; a sister, Cora Johnson; father-in-law, Willie C. Davis, Sr.; brothers in- law, Clifford (Rose) Davis, Jarvis (Rosa) Davis, Willie C. (Maxine)
Davis, Jr., Clint Davis, and Reverend William Felton; and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Davis.


On a beautiful Tuesday morning, November 12, 2024, God called His son and summoned him from labor to eternal rest from his home. He leaves to cherish his memories: his nine children, Katrina Bailey ofByromville, GA, Kelvin (Elaine) Turner of Vienna, GA, Archie (Ken) McRae of Americus, GA, Manfred (Shirley) Turner of Byromville, GA, Myra Turner of Byromville, GA, Marchello Turner of Cordele, GA,
Lanorris Turner of Alamo, GA, Shontay (Eldrick) Williams of Vienna, GA, and Rotavius Bryant of Cordele, GA; his devoted grandchildren, Damion (Natalie) Turner, Keiaundria (Chris) Jordan, Jeremy McRae, Justin (Taylor) McRae, Arkendra McRae, Ashanti Williams, Rodney Williams, Aniyah Williams, Eric Williams, Shamiyah Fort, Maleah Fort, Marcayli Florence, Jamylinn Turner, Breanna Presley, Rylan Bryant, Teyana Bryant, Rotavius Bryant, Jr, and Jymeria Bryant. His great-grandchildren, Allison Taylor, Audrey Jordan, Christian Jordan,Aniya Turner,Elizabeth McRae, Chayce Williams, Faythe Williams, Dream Williams, Mylo Williams and Jhuri Presley; siblings, Tommie Lee (Essie, who preceded him in death) Turner of Vero Beach, FL, Susie Davis of Chicago, IL, Mattie Parker of Chicago, IL, Arthur (WillieLou) Turner, of Albany, GA, and Cora Johnson; mother-in-law, Ester Mae Davis of Perry, GA; brothers-in-law, Cooper (Brenda) Davis,Kenny (Jeanette) Davis, Greg (Donna) Davis, Daron (Peggy) Davis; and sisters-in-law, Wanda (Allen) Henry, Annie Davis, Tammy Napier, and Albertina Watts.
