Graveside service for Kelvin Edwards, 51, of Opelika, AL, will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 22, 2024, at Evergreen Cemetery, 1409 Monroe Avenue, Opelika, AL, 36801, Bishop A.L. Dowdell will officiate.

Mr. Edwards, who passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama, was born May 12, 1973, in Lee County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

A proud graduate of Opelika High School's Class of 1991, Kelvin carried the spirit of his community throughout his life. He was known for his steadfast work ethic and dedication to any task he undertook. Kelvin's commitment to his work was paralleled only by his devotion as a loving husband and provider. His family was his pride and joy, and he ensured that their home was a nurturing and secure place full of love and laughter.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory: wife, Tyanna Edwards; five children, Kiarra (Alijahwon) Finley, Shunedra Edwards, LaDiamond Ferguson, Kelton Edwards and Tykerial Edwards; father, John T. Edwards; twelve grandchildren, Azaria Menefee, KaMoni Stinson, DaKayden Stinson, Skye Stinson, Kingston Jones, Kolyn Jones, Klayiah Jones, Khaza Jones, Bryson Edwards, Aibree Gibbs, Chance Gibbs and Royalty Jackson; four siblings, Johnnie Mae Edwards, Marcus Edwards, Randy (Barbara) Ashford and Denise Bailey; one aunt, Vinnie Ojo; six nieces and nephews, Maurice Edwards, Nicholas Edwards, Nima Edwards, Kanesha Ashford, Jordan Ashford and Twyla Cooper; mother-in-law, Barbara (Douglas) Jordan of Opelika, AL; father-in-law, Calvin Ferguson of Opelika, AL; one sister-in-law, Jaquetta Ferguson of Millbrook, AL; two brothers-in-law, Ronderrick “Jack” Davis of LaGrange, GA and Jarvis Davis of Bullock County, AL; a special friend, Antonio Matthews; a host of other relatives and friends.
