HIS LIFE STORY

Danny Phillips was born in November 29, 1949 in Broxton, Georgia to the late Norman Phillipee and Helen Louise Gainey Phillipee of Broxton, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 50 years, Linda Clay Phillips. He leaves to cherish his memories to a loving family of four siblings: Jean Carol (Robert) Harris of Broxton, GA; Herbert Preston Phillips of Ocilla, GA; Jessie Louise (Eastman) Paulk Jr. of Ambrose, GA; Annie Faye Lewis of Broxton, GA: nieces and nephews: Shadrick (Christie) Phillips of Ludowici, GA; Coretta (Bruce) Carter of Douglas, GA; Corinthia Phillips English of Willacoochee, GA; Corey Phillips of Douglas, GA, James Lawrence III of Broxton, GA , Carla Jones of Jacksonville, FL; Jessica Phillips of Valdosta, GA; and host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

LOVE FOR BASEBALL

Danny Phillips is well known for his love of baseball. He is the founder of More Than A Game Incorporation. He knew baseball like the back of his hand and can tell you countless of heroic stories of perseverance of the negro league in baseball and baseball in general. He played his first game in his hometown of the city of Broxton, Georgia. Today his legacy lives on and has brought inspiration and clarity to many, especially the youth. Danny cherished his wife of many years who proceeded him in death who gave her unwavering loving support and encouragement to his vision to More Than A Game Incorporation.

HIS NINTH INNING

On November 6, 2024 in the city of Fort Lauderdale, Florida Mr. Danny Phillips left the Minor Leagues and entered the Major Leagues as he slipped from time to eternity. The laughs that he shared, the history he educated many of us with, will linger in our hearts forever. We are stronger, we are better, we are equipped, because Danny Phillips came into each of our lives.

Final Services will be held 3:00PM Sunday, November 24, 2024 at Broxton City Cemetery. 729 George Deen Rd. Broxton, Georgia 31519.
