Cynthia Harris

Passed 11/12/2024

Cynthia Teresa Harris was born on November 16, 1955, in Quitman, Georgia to the late Clinton Eugene Harris, Sr. and Annie Laura Salem-Harris.

From an early age she loved and honored God. She lived a life of holiness, guided by a deep reverence for God. She was a life-long member of Zion Temple Church Of God In Unity (Dr. Warnell Parker).

Cynthia received her education in the Georgia Brooks County school system where she graduated in 1973. She was also educated in the New York City school system for a brief period, while residing with her eldest sister.

Cynthia was a life-long resident of Quitman, Georgia, as well as a loving and devoted sister and friend to many. Cynthia was a hard worker, devoting her life to helping others. Her life was an example of Matthew 7:12, because of her kind, compassionate heart and her respectful treatment of others.

Cynthia followed in the footsteps of her two older sisters, Rossie & Ethel, when choosing a career as a Nurse Aide. She worked at the Presbyterian Home for more than 40 years before retiring. Upon retirement, her heartfelt desire was to live near her loving and devoted son, daughter-in-love, 4 grand-daughters, and many nieces and nephews.

In 2020, she relocated to New Jersey and joined Refreshing Life Praise Cathedral in Riverside, New Jersey where the Apostle Anthony J. Parker, Sr. and Dr. Sarah Parker serves as pastors. After being found full of wisdom, much respect and having the great ability to give Godly counsel, in 2022 the Bishop set her aside to serve on the Mother’s Board of her local church. In her free time, she enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, reading and collecting books and she eventually developed a liking for football, thanks to us.

Mother Cynthia T. Harris departed this life on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mount Holly, New Jersey.

She was preceded in death by her parents Clinton Eugene Harris, Sr. and Annie Laura Salem-Harris; 3 sisters, Annie Tookes, Assistant Pastor Shirley Goss, and Missionary Rossie Parker; 2 brothers, Spc 4-Clinton E. Harris, Jr and Pastor John Harris.

She leaves to cherish her life and legacy to her loving son, Elder Toriano R. Harris and daughter-in-love, Missionary Tiffany Harris; 4 granddaughters, Diamond, Simone, Jeanine, and Sydney Harris all of Westhampton, New Jersey; her devoted and loving sister, Mother Ethel M. Harris of Westhampton, New Jersey; one sister-in-law, Louella Harris of Fredericksburg, MD; a very special niece, Sonia Harris Mccloud of Columbus, Ga; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends including her best friends, Hilda Calloway, Pam Neal, Shondon Baker and Yugonda Thomas.
